>Other bidders can still try to buy the facility, located in a sparsely populated area 125 miles south of the Spanish capital, if they make an offer of at least 28 million euros, or 70 percent of the airport’s estimated value, within 20 working days, Efe newswire reported. This is what i don't understand. how was this chinese company able to buy it for EUR 10,000 if the others have to bid EUR 28M?

Was this the airport from the Top Gear episode?

>Tzaneen said Friday it also aims to buy additional land and invest in buildings and equipment as part of its cargo plan, taking total outlay to between 60 million and 100 million euros. i think that since they are promising to spend a large amount of money on the site they are getting the airport almost for free.

Don't the new owners inherit a crazy amount of debt though?

I dont understand how you can buy an airport for 10k. Even if it is in a shitty place, you still get a lot of land and buildings and what not. Also 125miles is a huge distance from something, especially in Europe.

A whole friggen airport for less than 11k? What the heck! I could have and would have paid them more. Grrr there goes my opportunity to live in an airport.
